I'll add it in as an exception to the rule :)

Re: factory.bin vs. factory.img

Ok I understand the confusion. All that is trying to tell you is: - if you're coming from the OEM firmware, use the factory installer OTHERWISE - use sysupgrade There's no "upgrader" per se. You download the latest version and load it accordingly (per the above rules for choosing which fil...

Re: Email,SMS notification

You can roll your own script for this which checks the quote values and then triggers an email if needed.
You can use the "print_quotas" command on a cron schedule, and the email notifications plugin to provide you with the email sending utility.

Re: Gargoyle and TP Link TC-W7960?

That device is not supported by Gargoyle (or any other third party firmware from what I can see)

Gargoyle does not support devices with in built models in general.

Did you follow the wiki for your device which covers this scenario?

Re: factory.bin vs. factory.img

Just use the factory image, there is no need to flash twice (where do people keep getting this advice?)

If you're going to use 1.11, you should use the latest version from the Show and Tell forum to gain the latest fixes and enhancements.

Re: Openwrt 19.07 based Gargoyle

Thanks, yes this is likely what is wrong, and it is not set in the config. Including it should fix, but I won't have time to check until late this week. Known issues: * wifi firmware file may not get created on the first boot after flashing on time to bring wifi normally up. Likely the overlay jffs2...

Re: Openwrt 19.07 based Gargoyle

"gpkg list-installed | grep ath9k"

you can try running "wifi config" to generate the config file. Doesn't make much sense why it doesn't exist already. I'll flash a WNDR3800 this week to see whether it behaves similarly.

Re: Openwrt 19.07 based Gargoyle

Generally Gargoyle does not support any modems, so i stuck with that paradigm.
If there's big demand we can add it, but i'm personally charging the person who requests it responsible for answering every single "How do i make the modem work?" post :)
