If anyone finds a way to run Gargoyle on this earlier version of the WR720N please let me know. Most of the other TP-Link products started with v1, so why not this one? It is inexpensive and has a lot of potential.

Been waiting for some time to flash my TP-WR841ND V8 to Gargoyle. The latest Gargoyle firmware v1.5.11 finally has a version for the WR841 v8 listed, but I have been unable to get it to reflash.
