Re: Quick-toggle Tor proxy?

It would be easier for you to route your traffic through a US proxy server instead of TOR. There are plenty of free proxy server or services around. Would it? The last time I tried, I actually found it very hard to find any working free proxy servers. Most were port 80 http-only, some with 443 and ...

Re: Quick dumb question: CPU Load average: out of 1, or 100?

Ah. So it's neither. According to the ' top ' command in the ssh terminal, about 30% cpu usage (mostly coming from Transmission actively downloading torrents) is equal to a load value of around 1.15. And I'm sure its probably more complicated than that, and doesn't just scale up lineally to higher C...

Quick dumb question: CPU Load average: out of 1, or 100?

Are the 1min/5min/15min CPU load averages a percent value?

IE my WNDR3700v2 says:

CPU Load Averages: 0.17 / 0.09 / 0.06 (1/5/15 minutes)

Does that mean that in the past 1 minute, the CPU load average was 0.17%, or does it mean that it was 17%?

Can I just say how much I love your QoS?

I share an internet connection with other people. I tend to download and seed a lot of torrents, at high bandwidth. They tend to stream netflix movies and use skype in HD, also at high bandwidth. It was irritating for them to have to ask me to pause my torrent box every time they wanted to use eithe...

Quick-toggle Tor proxy?

Hello! I see Gargoyle has a Tor client feature in the latest version! Is there any way to quickly enable and disable the tor proxy on-the-fly? I ask because I am in Canada, and I want to use USA Netflix. I've done it before with Tor - if I login to Netflix while on a Tor proxy (a specific Tor server...

Re: Wifi is weaker using Gargoyle?

Apparently it was because of a set of DVDs that someone had put in the chest of drawers the router was sitting on. The DVDs had so much metal foil in them that they were weakening my WIFI signal.

Sorry about that folks, the wifi works just fine on Gargoyle!

Re: Help! "Restore settings" bricked my WNDR3700v2!

nevermind, TFTP wasn't working because I was trying to flash a sysupgrade.img, not a factory.img.

Please don't hate me for my stupidity

Help! "Restore settings" bricked my WNDR3700v2!

So I tried out Gargoyle 1.5.0, and it worked okay. I decided I wanted to upgrade to the latest version, so I made a backup of my settings in the standard tar.gz. So I flashed to 1.5.10, and it worked fine. Until I decided to restore my settings. Now I can't access the router at all. I don't get a DH...

Wifi is weaker using Gargoyle?

Hello! I finally got DD-WRT to give up the router and hand it to Gargoyle (web-page firmware upgrade didn't upgrade, said it did, but was still dd-wrt, so I used TFTP with success), but now my wifi is weaker! I have a WNDR3700v2-NA, on the 2nd floor of the house, in the center of the house. I used g...

Re: Switch from DD-WRT to Gargoyle?

That's okay, I do, and I know for certain it is compatible, because there is a gargoyle image that is specifically designed for my router. All I need to know, is whether I have to flash to the original factory Netgear firmware before I can flash to Gargoyle. Or, can I flash straight from DD-WRT? Or,...
