wireless N on v1.8.1

Post by MucuCat »

i have wr841n v8 router. on every build of 1.9 ACC does not work for me so i reverted back to v1.8.1. On this build ACC does work (while saturated ping without ACC around 150, with ACC bellow 80ms) but i cant disble wireless N mode. i would like to have it enabled and it works fine in the same room as the router is, but in my bedroom it disconnects a lot which is annoying while playing hearthstone :p

is there any way to disable wireless N mode? Or is there a ispy build of 1.8.1 that i can try?

Actually while writing this i was downloading at full speed and measuring ping. i got few timeouts and after 5min i lost connection with router. idk if its because of the wireless N or the router itself (i am 3m away from the router).

Also i have a nother question. while downloading a torrent i get less than 80ms ping. if i limit the torrent itself to lets say 50% of my bandwidth i get 12ms ping. But if i set 50% of my bandwidt on gargoyle for my pc and i start to download, the torrent will use the max 50% of bandwidth, but the ping will be 120ms or higher. How come?

You can disable it by editing the wireless config and setting the HTMODE to NONE.

If your link is approaching saturation the ACK requests will get delayed and your ping will increase.

set your 2.4GHz Channel Width: to 20 MHZ. If that dont work then set your 2.4GHz Operation Mode: B+G
Linksys WRT3200ACM
NETGEAR Nighthawk R7800
NETGEAR R6260
