Flash Fonera2100 - problem

Hello,

I had this old router with DD-WRT on it, a Fonera 2100. Somehow, the DD-WRT got corrupted, but I still had access to Redboot on 192.168.1.254.
Anyway, the dd-wrt support forum is awful and the build I was using was not working correctly in client mode. Hence, I got the idea to try out Gargoyle!

So, I downloaded Fonflash and the 2 files needed for stable version 1.4.7 (Atheros 231x). I set Fonflash to openwrt/Gargoyle, hit start flash and then plugin the router to power supply. I thought that, since I had the router with problems and needed to access Redboot to recover it, I might as well do in one step - loading a proper firmware with Fonflash, which I think is also accessing the Redboot.

After connecting to power supply, Fonflash started working, but it stalled right on the beggining:

>fis init...

And never went past this point. Which I think is not normal.
After more than 40 minutes, I uplugged the router and tested it. No more access to redboot on 192.168.1.254 . Also tested 192.168.1.1 and the last LAN IP the router had. No access. Fonflash also cannot connect anymore.

The only good news is that the router still receives IP via DHCP. I have it now with a dynamic IP on my LAN, but I can't connect to it in any way (SSH, telnet, http....).

Can someone point me the right way to recover it?
I think I will need to do a proper formating, maybe with "fis init -f" command, but for that I need redboot access...

what operating system are you using?

Vista is the last OS that I could use fon flash with

windows XP is better for fon flash

I did the operation in 2 Foneras.
The 2nd one was OK, same method.

The first had some probelmas already, before using Fonflash. I can now acess to redboot, it is on the received IP (via DHCP), port 9000, mode telnet. What should I do now to cure the router?

I might try to upload new software via redboot, but shouldn't I check the flash or something? The router got malfunctioning during some settings changes with DD-WRT build 14929. Maybe "fis init -f" to start with?

EDIT: just started the "fis init -f" command. It asked a confirmation question, I hit "y", and now... nothing... no output on putty so far... Has anyone experienced this behaviour?

I lose connection everytime I do a "fis init" command.
The fis list is now empty!

I can still access to Redboot, I can transfer a "linux.bin" firmware file ok, but when I try to create the partition with "fis create linux", the connetion is lost (i'm monitoring with ping) and nothing appears on terminal window.

When I unplug and power in again, fonera is in the same state: no partitions created...

What can I do now?

fconfig -l shows this:

Ok,

I have discovered that the write/erase opeations are taking a huge time to complete!! I let the router doing FIS INIT all night and it was completed in teh morning.

Can someone point me how to load Gargoyle manually? That is, without fonflash? I need to load and execute very gradually...

The router seems to be having some flash problems. Even editing and saving the boot script seems not to work. When I reboot, it still has the default values.

I already tried "fis init -f" several times
I already erased nvram.
I also tried to load "linux.bin" and "exec" in RAM to see if it boots, but no.

Does nyone know some useful commands in the redboot shell to better diagnose the issue? It seems almost like the FLASH is locked down, I can't write anything there...

Also, it is always a good opportunity to learn something. For example, what is to be expected to get with "fis list" after we do "fis init"?
