What is the DNS server and how do i correct an error with it? I have my ps3 hooked up to my wireless router. I ran through all the steps to connect my ps3 to the router. It goes through all the steps but at the end says error with DNS server.

Re: What is the DNS server
You need to give more info on your setup.
What router? What version of firmware?
How are devices hooked up, etc.
DNS error is a general error, meaning the device cannot
communicate with the internet/network.
DNS = Domain Name System
The internet is based off of IP addresses - LOTS of #'s
DNS = a way for people to remember the NAMES instead of all
the IP addresses - I.E. - instead of going to:
http://74.125.155.104
you would instead use: http://www.google.com
More than likely your PS3 is not getting configured properly
It may not even be router problems, could be PS3 settings.
