Linksys WRT54GL V1.1 firmware?

Post by oX Box »

Hi guys

I can't figure out which Gargoyle image I should use, for my Linksys WRT54GL V1.1.

Can anybody advise me, please?

Hi

Thanks for replying!

Would that be the gargoyle_1.6.2-wrt54g-squashfs.bin image or should I go further back.

I'm unsure whether this image is the right one for at WRT54GL or not :(

Hi you mite want to try 1.3 or 1.4 The cpu in the wrt54g 1.1 is really slow. I had the 2.0 ver and it had to go in my place were i keep broke or old hardwair as it just could not cope with new firmware and that was back in 2011. Even if you get it flashed with 1.3 or 1.4 it will not be safe to run as your mane AP. All the packages in it have had many many bugs and holes fixed that you could be hacked with out braking a swet! It mite make a slow bridge or a repeater.

Do you mean the G or GL?

The CPU in the G is a Broadcom BCM4710 @ 125 MHz, the CPU in the GL (the one I have) is a Broadcom BCM5352 @ 200 MHz.

But maybe this difference is irrellevant?
