I have a Netgear N150 Classic Wireless Router, Model No: WNR612 version 3 and I don't find this router in the supported router in the gargoyle site. I was wondering if I can install the firmware in my router for setting up VPN.
thank you.

The OpenWRT hardware page has details for v2
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/netgear/wnr612v2
see the third note ...
Note: There is also a v3 based on Realtek RTL8196C, which is not supported by OpenWrt. It also has 2 LAN + 1 WAN-port, plus WLAN.
You are out of luck I am afraid

Can you help someone else get Gargoyle up and running?

Of course. Most people connect to VPN directly from their computer. You can turn it on and off. Your VPN provider usually provides you a program or instructions to set it up.garxuser wrote:yeah I have already visited that site and have seen that message too.

QoS Tip: Don't complicate your QoS settings. Gargoyle evenly splits available bandwidth between active devices as needed. Just delete all your classification rules and leave only one normal service class and you're done. No more arguing over bandwidth.
Re: Firmware for NETGEAR Router, Model No: WNR612
They successfully compiled openwrt 15.05.1 for the On Networks N150/Netgear WNR612 V2 here: https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php ... 39#p330239
so I'll ask the same question the first post did. Is there a gargoyle version somewhere we can use? I note you have a "light" version for 4mb flash/32 mb ram which would match this router.
Seems to be suitable for a "throwaway router" since Newegg keeps selling them for $5 with a $5 mail in rebate.

Check out the latest build thread, there seems to be an image built for this router.
