I have disabled SSH access but I'm still able to log in and perform tasks on the device with no issues. As an example I was able to enable channel 12 and 13 via SSH despite access being disabled.
Is this happening because I'm accessing it via local network? Does the '
SSH Access ' menu option only apply to remote (external) connections?
Using latest 1.8.0 build on a D-Link 505 rev A2. Default password has been changed.

Do you think this is the case with 1.6.2 as well?

No idea, never used 1.6.2.
So is this a bug or expected behaviour when SSH'ing from the local network?

Doesn't that feature only disable from the WAN side and not the LAN
