Brief disconnects when DHCP Lease renews

Post by ShayTheRogue »

Hi after having some trouble with my service provider I started paying more attention to my random disconnects and noticed that my devices get disconnected when the DHCP Lease renewal occurs (different times depending on the devices current lease, never all devices at the same time).
I have "Assigned Static IP Addresses" for a few of my devices and the "LAN DHCP Server Enabled" is cecked with a renewal time of 12 hours.
And that's when the disconnects happen, every 12 hours when the lease renews. it lasts for about 10 seconds.
Is my only option to increase the lease time and deal with it, or there something else wrong? And what is the max time I can set the lease to?
I'm using an older version of Gargoyle, and it may have given me these issues all along and I just haven't paid attention until recently.

Gargoyle Version:1.5.10
Model:TP-LINK TL-WDR3600

Hi I run 1.7.1 on my 3600 and never get this. Take a back up and flash 1.7.1 but when updating from 5.x you cant save settings.

If you have lots of static addresses you can use win rar to unrar the tar file and use winscp to put these files back in to /etc

/etc/ethers
/etc/hosts
/etc/config/qos_gargoyle

I think that is all.

If 1.7.1 don't work for you you can flash back and restore your backup.

Pleas don't restore your whole backup. from 1.5.1 in to 1.7.1
