Do all connections being monitored have to be made THROUGH this router already flashed and updated or can it simply exist on the network connected to the DSL modem ?
I currently have a WAP I am happy with and wasn't looking to replace it with this, I only want to have access to manage all my home connections and devices for bandwidth troubleshooting. Also, to that - should this router be made the DHCP mgr?

Yes, the quota, qos, & bandwidth functions are implemented in the firewall which operates "between" the WAN port and the LAN ports on the Gargoyle router. So you would need to connect your DSL modem to the WAN port on Gargoyle.MBBarnesAL wrote:Do all connections being monitored have to be made THROUGH this router
You could plug your WAP into a LAN port on Gargoyle, but it would simplify things to get rid of the WAP and just use the Gargoyle router (assuming it has wifi!)MBBarnesAL wrote:I currently have a WAP I am happy with and wasn't looking to replace it with this
Probably. If the DSL modem is connected to the WAN port on the Gargoyle router then the Gargoyle router will need to provide DHCP for the Gargoyle LAN side.MBBarnesAL wrote:should this router be made the DHCP mgr?
Consider something like:
DSL LAN static 192.168.2.0
Gargoyle WAN static 192.168.2.1
Gargoyle LAN static 192.168.1.0
Gargoyle DHCP 192.168.1.100-192.168.1.249
Can you help someone else get Gargoyle up and running?
