i got the gargoyle router about a week ago. worked great and simple that is what i wanted. (i just need to know what device is using my allotment of data) but now it stopped working. i have satelite internet with dish. when the sat is pluged in to the router the lan light is off on my satelite modem. and nothing works. when i plug it in to my old router the light turns on and it works fine. i have tried rebooting the gargoyle router but it still does not work. it does not show up on my network list either. even when i connect it to the computer with a cable.
any ideas?
thank you
mike

Hi MoonRiverRanch,
I found your website and watched you promo. Looks like a nice setup you have there.
You described correct operation of your router for 1 week, then sudden failure of your router. The important part is that you claim no changes of any type where made to the settings of your router. This is then most likely hardware failure. Were there any storms in the area in the proximity of the failure? Sometime lightning can get you, especially when satellite systems are involved. But routers can failure for other reasons.
You did not mention if any of the lights on your Gargoyle router are on. Perhaps it's power supply is what is failed and not the router itself.

Re: stopped working
there were no storms anytime near the failure. i did not mention that the light is on the router and when i reboot it the light blinks like it did the first time i plugged it in for a couple minutes and then turns solid like before.
Re: stopped working
You can try to get it into fail-safe recovery mode.
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/dok ... e_recovery but as I said previously this seems like a hardware failure to me.
