Quotas: do they distinguish between LAN and WAN traffic

Post by MonkeyCrime »

I hope the topic explains my question. As a background, I've configured quotas for family members by IP block ranges, and then assigning static IPs for each persons computer, phone etc.

However I don't know if the quota system distinguishes between LAN and WAN addresses. We have a DLNA server that we stream videos from and I'm hoping local streaming doesn't count towards quota usage.

EDIT: Found this post with a helpful response from Eric Wong indicating LAN traffic is not counted (as expected).

No they do not. They are distinguished by host name or host ip.
