It seems that a WZR-600DHP works better with ANI enabled. When disabled, it drops all clients after about 20-30 minutes. (Have 50+ clients at all times on an open network), when ANI is enabled, it keeps connections even through the bad interference from other networks on the same channel (boosting the main Wi-Fi where I live, so it working flawlessly is critical).
I did throughput testing as well, with 1GB file transfers from LAN to WLAN using ftp, asked everyone to disconnect for the tests:
ANI enabled:
Test 1: 54 seconds = 151 Mbps
Test 2: 58 seconds = 141 Mbps (delayed for about a second halfway through the test, but didn't drop, caused by a packet burst on the main Wi-Fi that my router connects to)
Test 3: 52 seconds = 157 Mbps
ANI disabled:
Test 1: 125 seconds = 65 Mbps (dropped link 2 times)
Test 2: 135 seconds = 60 Mbps (dropped link 3 times)
Test 3: 133 seconds = 61 Mbps (dropped link 8 times, needed reboot to connect back again)
Wireless card in my laptop is an Intel Centrino Advanced Wireless N 2230, so I don't think it's the issue, but I have a dual band atheros on the way, probably be here thursday or friday, so I can retest then.
Just trying to report back what I can so it may help somebody else
