I have the following issue.
Setup:
Router (Pfsense): 192.168.168.1 with DHCP and Captive Portal
Accesspoint (Lancom): 192.168.168.3 with SSID GUEST (No Security)
Now I installed Gargoyle 1.6.1 on another Accessoint (TP-Link TL WA901ND) in order to extend the coverage of my wireless network.
I followed these steps:
- Install Gargoyle gargoyle_1.6.1-ar71xx-generic-tl-wa901nd-v2-squashfs-factory.bin via firmeware upgrade
- Connect client directly to AP via LAN on IP 192.168.1.1
- Device Configuration:
-- Wireless Bridge / Router
- Wireless Bridge / Repeater
-- Bridge IP: 192.168.168.2
-- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
-- AP / Gateway IP: 192.168.168.1
-- Connect via Client Bridge
-- Repeater enabled
-- SSID to Join: GUEST
-- SSID to Broadcast: GUEST2
Now I plugged out the LAN cable rebooted the device. The gargoyle AP is not physically connected to the network. I tested the setup and everything worked as expected.
- A wireless client can connect to network GUEST2
- A wireless client receives an IP-Adress from the router
- I can ping the router from a client
- I can access the internet from a client
- Even if I plug in a client to the APs Lan port everything works fine.
However, from this point the gargolye AP (which should have IP 192.168.168.2 by now) is not reachable anymore. Not from a wireless client directly connected to GUEST2, nor from a client connected via LAN nor from the router itself.
At first I thought, maybe I typed a wrong IP in the Bridge IP field, so I somehow managed to boot into safe mode (either by holding the WPS or reset button while booting, can't remember) and was able to access the device at 192.168.1.1. via telnet. I executed firstboot command and followed the steps again. I double checked I put the right IP in the Bridge IP field. The result was the same.
Any ideas what could cause this issue?

Re: Gargoyle AP functional but unreachable after bridge setu
Update: Even if I searched the forum (especially "Network / Wireless Issues") prior to posting my issue, I did not found a related topic.
Now I found this post http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... f=6&t=5615 by shinto. Unfortunately without a solution either.
