I have the following setup: a Billion BiPAC 7800VDPX serves as my ADSL modem and WiFi router at the moment. There are 4 devices directly connected (wired) to the router and a number of other devices connect wirelessly. As the firmware on the Billion router doesn’t provide any features for bandwidth control and I cannot deploy gargoyle directly on it, I have now added a TP-Link WDR3600 with Gargoyle 1.6.1 to the network.
Unfortunately, I’m somewhat struggling with the configuration. Ultimately, I would like to turn off the WiFi AP portion of the Billion router and only use it as the ADSL modem as well as for the wired connections. I would then connect the WAN port of the WDR3600 to one of the LAN ports on the Billion router. The WDR3600 should then serve as the WiFi AP for the network. The wireless devices connected to the WDR3600 should also be able to communicate with the wired devices on the Billion router, whether in the same or separate sub-net would not be important.
The WDR3600 is running in Gateway mode, but it doesn’t seem to connect to the Billion router.
If you could provide any pointers on how I can get this to work, I would be very grateful.
Thanks.
