Can't activate wifi

Post by xavierm02 »

Hi,

I installed gargoyle_1.5.11-brcm47xx-squashfs.trx on my WGT634U but I can't enable wifi.

Using the GUI, it tells me to wait and nothing happens.

"wifi detect" doesn't return anything.

"opkg install kmod-madwifi" throws:
ERROR: Dependency kernel (= 3.3.8-1-f57f4e4b03f8756fe7965db2671c97f6) of package kmod-madwifi is installed,
but has incompatible version 3.3.8-1-16bcfadf6189d5f7c4de76e9858b953f and is marked as 'hold'

I guess the difference between those two versions are pretty minor so I just need to find a way to force the installation of the package... opkg doesn't seem to allow me to do that so I guess I could try to open the package and change the dependencies. Is there any other simpler way of doing this?

Thank you in advance.

PS: The interfaces that "ip link show" can see are: lo eth0 gre0 imq0 imq1 eth0.0@eth0 eth0.1@eth0 br-lan.

Check your /config/network file and see if WLAN is present or not.
Most likely, your WLAN have disappeared due to problems on the Gargoyle ROM you are using.
