command line wireless config?

How can I see (and possibly alter) low level wireless config parameters? Are there any examples somewhere?

I was specifically wanting to check the wireless ACK timing, to see if it is suitable for a 1km point to point link.

I will be using 2 TP-Link 741s

Try checking the OpenWRT forums / wiki

Gargoyle is OpenWRT underneath so any info for low level stuff
via command line would be available on the OpenWRT website

I suspect you need more powerful routers though:

The WR741's only output 100mW max - that's a hardware limitation

I would think you'd want at least 250mW output minimum for both
the receive and send signals and some good strong antennas
(not home-made cantennas) for a reliable connection though

Sorry to be ignorant, but I thought that all WiFi routers have the same RF power restrictions, at least within one country.

Which other routers have higher power output? Any which have ability to drive just one (directional) antenna? How much difference would this make compared to the two routers (which I already have under my desk!!!)?
