"Unknown" connected host

Post by heuristic »

Howdy Y'all....

I searched on this, did not get any hits...

On my routers I see an Unknown Host connected, which troubles me a little except that it appears to have no IP and I suspect is an anomoly...

When I look at the connected hosts, I see one legitimate IP and MAC, but the other is "unknown" and bears a valid looking MAC which I cannot identify. I am running AP+WDS to accommodate another router in client mode in the basement.. but its MAC is not the same.... anyone else seen this?

I am a little behind in flashing, still running 10.0.1

Thanks!

I noticed that on my end as well. It turned out to be me connected with my ethernet cable. I set up my MAC addresses filtering for WIFI, but noticed a MAC address that is not granted access. That is because the WIFI MAC address is different from the ethernet MAC address.

Hi Heather, your situation then makes sense, however I was not wired to the router, only wireless. So this does not explain it. I have seen this at my other location where I have a single router running, no wired clients. :?:
