DIR-601 bridge/repeater no dhcp

Post by kmart »

Hi.

I have a DIR-601 router which I installed Gargoyle on and set it up as a wireless bridge/repeater for my main router (actiontec MI424). I have 2 computers connected (wired) to the DIR-601 as well as an older Linksys print server. At first, everything worked great. (The two computers were able to get an IP using DHCP and the print server's IP is static.) A couple hours later it stopped working. I was unable to get an IP address for either computer using DHCP. If I statically set up the address for either computer then it will work but it fails with a timeout if I try to use DHCP.

I've tried using both the stable version and the latest experimental version of Gargoyle. I've tried disabling/opening my firewall thru ssh to the DIR-601. And I've tried searching thru this forum to find other possible solutions but nothing has worked. If I connect one of the computers to the main router (the actiontec) wirelessly then I can connect using DHCP. So I think this means that DHCP is working on the main router but that the dhcp messages aren't being forwarded or getting thru when coming from the DIR-601.

This isn't a critical problem as I can keep everything set up using static addresses but to help myself learn and be less of a noob, I'd really like to try to figure out what the problem is. Can anyone tell me where I can start? I'm happy to post any logs or config files that are needed...I just don't know which ones would apply to this problem.
