Dynamic clear channel on Netgear WNDR3800

Post by Hoggy »

OK - so I decided to take the plunge on getting the wndr3800 after being unlucky enough to get a V3 of the wndr3700.

I want to put Gargoyle on it for a couple reasons: 1) If it's anything like the wndr3700v3, then there will be no way to lock down the admin pages via https or MAC or ANYTHING. 2) I would like to be able to tinker around if desired due to it being on top of OpenWRT, which I once had on my old Linksys WRT54gs before switching to Tomato due to the forced complexity of Openwrt. I like the fact that Gargoyle should be simple but still be able to get to the bare bones complexity of OpenWRT if/when I want to.

However, as the title suggests, I am wondering if Gargoyle will support the dynamic clear channel selection of the WNDR3800?
I've read that it is more than just software, and it is yet another factor in my purchase of the WNDR3800 shortly after getting the WNDR3700v3 and discovering no alternative firmwares support it yet.
I also like that this router has a whopping 128mb of memory and 16mb of flash for future OpenWRT packages, if need be.

If not, would it be possible to request that it be added?

Thanks.
Netgear WNDR3800 w/Gargoyle 1.5.8 (using)
Netgear WNDR3700v3 w/Factory FW (now as backup)
Noticed wireless is stronger in WNDR3800 too.
