Wireless N Dropouts

Post by pmerrill »

I notice that if I configure my 3700v2 for wireless n 300 (channel 1 with second channel above) I get periodic disconnections from a wireless laptop as well as a wired PC. For some reason the connection to the internet disappears but then eventually comes back.

This does not seem to happen when it's configured as wireless n 150.

I'm thinking it's issues with the wireless drivers associated with OpenWRT.

So I guess waiting for the next release of OpenWRT is the best approach, unless someone else has any ideas???

I've been testing MANY of the latest trunk builds of OpenWRT

I'm usually building from source every few days.

Right now @ 32651 on my DIR-601 and wireless is MUCH improved
over backfire 10.03.1

But since this is trunk, it won't be in Gargoyle anytime soon as Gargoyle
is based off release versions, not trunk versions.

Stick with the Wireless-N 150 mode for now.

Wireless-N 300 is almost never attained, even in ideal conditions.

If you tweak your Wireless-N 150 settings correctly on both your
router and your wireless adapter settings as well, you will get close
to 3x the speeds you would be getting on Wireless-G
