I was using openwrt and it works okay... it's not particularly fast and when I tried installing neorouter, it's a 700 KB package, it didn't clean up and now my router is all slow and stuff.
Does gargoyle provide more memory available than openwrt? 8MB chip
Can I install openwrt package?
Does the usb port work for samba?
