Have had my first Gargoyle system up for two days now. Very impressed. We have implemented quotas, black lists, and restrictions, but no AP or QoS. It's so nice to see things working as advertised.... a user hits 100% of their usage and their bandwidth automatically throttles. Love it.
I started using Ubiquity wireless gear a couple of years ago because the company was producing a quality, high powered, highly functional access point for the price of dinner at a nice restaurant. Ubiquity totally blew the 'high priced spreads' like Cisco out of the water.
Now here comes a Gargoyle software /hardware combo (our existing router was not compatible so we just bought a gargoyle branded unit) for less than the price of a single access point.... or FREE if you have your hardware!? Awesome. I have used multi-thousand dollar units to do similar in the past, but Gargoyle mated with OpenDNS does just fine.
BIG kudos to all who have contributed to Gargoyle and Opernwrt. Thanx for giving us an alternative to the canned code provided by the consumer router vendors
