i'm trying to install openswan on a wndr3700v1 and it keeps bombing with out of space...presumably because it's out of space. is there no way for me to achieve this, short of compiling my own image?
i don't especially want openswan, but i want l2tp/ipsec and openswan is one of the options. the other one requires the openwrt trunk it seems, which is not great for me either. that or i use one of arokh's builds, but i prefer gargoyle to openwrt itself.

Re: openswan on wndr3700v1
I'm very interested in getting some kind of ipsec functionality too. I've made a attempt with racoon, but the level of detail the open wrt wiki offered combined with my limited linux knowledge made the attempt unsuccessful. Did you try using racoon at all?
