Bandwidth distribution for users in same qos class

Post by luniq »

Does gargoyle distribute available bandwidth evenly if multiple users are in the same qos class? Example is class for high bandwidth usage, the slow class. In my case users that aggressively downloads (i.e. more connections) get more bandwidth than other users of the same class.

With the qos i do get this to work. I created a slow class (bandwidth capacity 1%) for each users and when users have reached certain connection bytes they will go to their own slow class. So the bandwidth is evenly distributed to each users if all are downloading. This will not work without ACC unless your isp doesnt throttle at all, im thankful for ACC

This can easily be done if number of users are small and everyone using fixed ip address but I and perhaps most people use dhcp server. So is there other way to implement even bandwidth distribution? something like i mentioned above (even bandwidth for each users in same class)

Gargoyle QoS does not arbitrate usage within a class, only between classes. The solution you have made, one slow class for each user, is the only way with the current design.
