Hi,
I have a WRT54GL Router v1.1
I just installed the file gargoyle_1.4.1-wrt54g-squashfs.bin
I have both wired and wireless connections in the house.
The wired seems to work great and I have it on static IP right now.
However when I tried to enable wireless it doesn't seem to turn on at all.
The light on the router is not turning on so it doesn't seem like wireless is enabled.
I don't understand what's wrong as it should be a simple thing to do.
I currently have it set to Access Point.
Did I use the wrong version of gargoyle?
Please help.
Thanks,
Aggie

Re: Wireless won't start WRT54GL router
Actually I got the light to come on.
But now I'm getting stuck when the laptops are trying to connect.
It gets stuck at waiting for keys. This happens wen i'm broadcasting the SSID and when I don't broadcast the SSID.
It never manages to establish the full connection even thought I'll see it briefly in the connection list on the router.
I even turned off mac filter list for now just to test things out.

Re: Wireless won't start WRT54GL router
I am using my WRT54GL as a wireless AP without any real issues. Try reseting the router to defaults and try setting it up again. I am using WPA TKIP as the wireless encryption.

I also use the WRT54GL with WPA2 security without issues. The file you used to flash your router is the correct one so that is not the issue.
Try going to defaults as previously suggested and using no security on your Wifi. Once that is working add the security you want.
