Missing links in Navigation Panel

Post by sdelcorno »

Hi, I've just upgraded Gargoyle from 1.3.3 to 1.3.9. I backed up the config before flashing the Fonera and restored right after upgrading. Everything is working fine except a few missing links from Navigation panels (on the left). Most notable missing links: DHCP settings (to set fixed IP-MAC pairs), port_forwarding (pretty self explanatory) amongst others.

Anyone with the same issue?
Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this behaviour?

Thank you in advance!
And congrats, since Gargoyle is really a good (and usefull) piece of software! :-)

1) Reset to defaults and re-flash 1.3.9 to be sure you got a good flash

2) Make sure you flush your internet browser caches

3) Try to do some configuring yourself to test

4) Once you're sure all the tabs are ok/working, then go ahead
and reload your config backup and see if that works.

I've got a couple of screenshots. Right after installing 1.3.9 I have all the links in left navigation panel. Next I restore old config and the links go away misteriously. Again. :-D

Any different idea/suggestion?

My #1 suggestion would be to write down all your info
and re-configure by hand.

It is very unlikely - but I think I've experienced it once, where
the config file is corrupted and doesn't reload properly.

What version did you upgrade from?

If you did a huge jump, like from 1.3.1 to 1.3.9, try this.

Load up the old version, re-load that config file, make sure it all works.

Then go ahead and jump up 1 version, reload the config, and see if
it works ok. If it does, re-save a NEW config file and then try the
1.3.9 upgrade and reload the new saved config.

It's very unlikely but it's exactly what happened to me :D

I followed your directions and now everything looks OK, apart from a strange behaviour with DHCP/DNS that I'll dig later :)

Thank you.
