Namecheap Dynamic DNS problem

Post by cirrusflyer »

I can't get Namecheap to work in the Dynamic DNS Services. I've replaced my real domain below with a placeholder for this forum, but this is the error message:

"Update of new dynamic DNS service configuration(s) failed:
mydomain.com

Service(s) could not be updated properly and have therefore been removed."

Thanks for reporting this -- I've just verified the problem and committed a fix. Should be working in the next release.

Namecheap.com DDNS service is still not working for domain names with multiple periods ".".

ie
  • a.) subhostname.hostname.example.com will not work
    b.) hostname.subdomain.example.com will not work
Namecheap.com allows both types of records. type a.) is a hostname with a period in the middle on NS for example.com.

type b.) is a NS for subdomain.example.com.

However, multiple dots "." confuses / fails regular expression and does not feed Namecheap DDNS update API properly.

Thanks in advance,
Daniel
