I had this Rosewill RNX-GX4 flashed with DD-WRT and working perfectly. Then decided to try out Gargoyle.
I flashed with the latest gargoyle_1.5.0-brcm47xx-squashfs.trx and after successfully, restarted the router but not able to go to Web GUI.
So I manage to reflash it back to Rosewill original firmware with tftp.
With the 2nd try to move down one step to gargoyle_1.4.3-brcm47xx-squashfs.trx, it flashed successfully too but again unable to get to Web GUI and now my power light is kinda flashing 7x then pause then repeat. I am able to ping but unable to flash to original now using tftp.
What can I do now, please help?

I learned my hard lesson and will stay way from Gargoyle for life.

Looks like you can get a serial port connected to this router
and recover that way - search the DD-WRT forums for recovery
It's not bricked, its just stuck in bootloader mode.
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/start
Rosewill is not shown as officially supported by OpenWRT, which
means it probably won't work with Gargoyle either. Yet...
Maybe in the future as support is added from OpenWRT

Re: Rosewill RNX-G4X brick with 1.4.3
Always possible there are different hardware versions.
Like the WZR-HP-G300NH - was working fine with OpenWRT / Gargoyle
Then Buffalo went ahead and changed the chips for the switch
and so-called bricks (still recoverable though) started to happen.
More research would need to be done on those Rosewills.
I think they are not bought as much, so less testers.

This is probably a dead thread, but I ended up viewing it just now looking for other information, so for what it's worth ...
As far as I can tell the newer versions of Gargoyle appear to "brick" the RNX-GX4. I have not been able to get past
Also, I've had this box stuck a number of times while playing around with different firmwares. I've always been able to re-flash to factory using the following procedure that I found on some forum or review. I seem to recall that you had to use the Cisco tftp server and that tftp32 did not work for me, but it's been a while.
Flash To Factory Procedure:
Hope this still helps someone. I've got three of these floating around being nominally useful even now.

Flash To Factory Procedure:
- Download the original Rosewill firmware from http://www.rosewill.com/Commons/SearchR ... x-gx4&st=2
- Change the name to upgrade_linux.trx and place it under "c:\GX4 recovery" (new create) (The file you get from Rosewill is called Rosewill_RNX_GX4_V1.1.08.trx by default. You have to rename it.)
- Download the Cisco tftp server and place under "c:\GX4 recovery"
- Manually change your computer’s IP to "192.168.1.33" and fire up the tftp server.
- Change Cisco tftp server’s option’s file path to "c:\GX4 Recovery"
- Turn on RNX-GX4
- When you see the Cisco tftp server come out with “#########”, wait for a couple minutes or more, then UNBRICKED!!
