Questions on Netgear WNDR3700 v1 firmware

Post by ldi9999 »

I'm thinking of flash my WNDR3700 v1 from stock firmware to Gargoyle. I have a few questions and would like to get answers here before upgrading:
The main features I'm using are USB sharing & DLNA (UPNP) media server, which are all included in stock firmware. Are these two features available in Gargoyle? If not, how to make it happen ? Detailed step-by-step guide is appreciated.

Thanks!

USB storage is part of gargoyle, DLNA is not. You can install/config any package you like from the command line, however its not for newbies. I suggest using google.

I saw MiniDLNA, MiniUPNDd, Ushare, etc... What's the best DLNA server package?

Well I do know that the stock firmware netgear makes uses MINIDLNA (on a really old build of busybox). I however have never used it, but from what I read on other forums MINIDLNA is most common (like in arokh's openWRT build).

Due to the limited processing power of the wndr3700 and memory i have read it barely works
