Sorry that no one jumped in here but I suspect that is means that no one knows how to help you with this issue.

Any investigation you can do to shed light on the problem would be appreciated and may help others that encounter such a problem.

I cannot understand why the time takes an hour to update. Gargyole should update the time within minutes of connecting to the internet.

well i really don't know if my problem is related to time. i think since the update interval is set to "Every Hour" that is why it updates the time after an hour. i don't care about the time, all i want is the Quota and bandwidth usage table to work good

Can you please try the latest version 1.4.1, which I just released? There is a fix for a bug that might be responsible for the problems you report.

i tried something on version 1.4.0 and it seemed to have fix the problem, thinking that the problem was time related (because time wasn't updating as soon as the router was turned ON) i googled and found some suggestions about using DNS in Gargoyle itself, previously i have entered the address of my ADSL Modem in the place of DNS but now i have entered google DNS (8.8.8.8) and the time gets set as soon as my ADSL modem syncs. The bandwidth table and the Quota usage are also displaying the correct values (value that were there when the router got turned off the last time). Previously they used to be incorrect..Anyhow i will give the latest version a shot ASAP

@keyboardcowboy

Did you flash Gargoyle straight from the stock firmware webgui?

I get a:

Error code: 18005
Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name.

md5sum of the downloaded file is ok.

Router TL-WR841N, V7.2, stock firmware 3.12.5 Build 100929 Rel.57776n

id the flash last night with inofficial gargoyle port

Code: Select all

TP-Link
TL-WR841ND
ver 7.0
as the original Gargyle did not work for upgrade.
I got the same error, too:
Error code: 18005
Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name.
the .bin file worked well and I can acess my router and configure it.
- still having the lights problem (does not bother me)
- sadly the frontend is in an old gargyle style missing the nice look like this site shows in screenshot section

oh btw it's the firmware done by user oneru on the openwrt forum if some1 wanna look

mivogtLU did not install an unofficial gargoyle port. See his following post....

https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=26561&p=6

He was just using a standard version of OpenWrt.

The version 5 gargoyle firmware for the WR841ND works just fine with a version 7.1. I have it installed and everything is working fine. From what I have read the version 7.2 has the same hardware as the 7.1 so I can't imagine the version 5 gargoyle software not working on it.
