problem with logging in with security on?

ummm ya i have an x-fta router/dongle when i engauge the wirless security on my linksys wireless router i can not log into the x-fta router/dongle. i have tried to enguge the security on, on the xfta and nothing, tried it with the security off and still the same result. i thought it was the password i had to be the same,and that was wong too. so please help thank you. i am at a loss so please help
