USB Share problems

I have made an ext3 partition on an USB HDD.
1. In Gargoyle I have tried to share it, but the file system is shown as ext4 and not ext3.
2. In Gargoyle I have tried to share it with read/write access, but there is actually only read access.

This is with 1.4.2

I know it is not recommended... but changing the FS to NTFS makes it possible to write to the disk again. So it seems that gargoyle only has trouble with ext*.
PS: I have not tried with NFS, only CIFS (Samba).
