Hi from Australia,
I have a Netgear WNDR3700 V2. I have downloaded the file gargoyle_1.4.1-ar71xx-wndr3700v2-squashfs-factory.img but when I try to update the router from the Netgear web interface, it fails. I get the following
Current Version 1.0.4.68
Uploaded Version OpenWRT.unknown
And a dialog box saying
Firmware upgrade failed. Please check your file.
Should I be upgrading the router to the latest Netgear firmware before I try loading this file?
Thanks in advance (and for the software)

With that current firmware, it sounds more like an WNDR3700v1.
Please check again.

Re: WNDR3700 V2 Install fails
I bought this 3 weeks ago, the box is re and grey and it says WNDR3700-100AUS.
I don't really know how to tell the difference other than the box colour.
Is there some other way?

WNDR3700-100AUS is what we would call WNDR3700v1.Walton wrote:I bought this 3 weeks ago, the box is re and grey and it says WNDR3700-100AUS.

Re: WNDR3700 V2 Install fails
From a Netgear forum
"The only difference between the versions is v1 has 8mb flash memory and v2 is 16mb"
Mine has 8MB flash so it must be a V1. Strange that I just bought it and it is a V1.

Re: WNDR3700 V2 Install fails - Solved
And how simple is it when you get the correct file. THANK YOU all for your help.
And it's so easy to configure. Much cleaner web interface than the standard Netgear one.
I can't thank you enough. In the end putting Gargoyle on was so easy with the 3700.
