IPV6 port forwarding

Post by rockyd »

Gday
In Gargoyle there are setting for port forwarding for IPV4 and IPV6.
Playing with my TP Link VR1600v which I had from my previous RSP(Internode) on my new RSP and have got it connected up ok. IPV4 port forward settings are there, but IPV6 port forward setting don't appear to be there. Which prevents my web server being online in IPV6.
If I am not mistaken it should also have IPV6 port forward settings, like in Gargoyle shouldn't it?

Technically in IPv6 it isn’t port forwarding but port opening or allowing to the end device.
To this end, is it under a different menu on your device?
A whirlpool post seems to indicate such a menu doesn’t exist for your device and the only option is to completely disable the IPv6 firewall.

As this isn’t a tp link support forum I don’t think we can help much more?

Please be respectful when posting. I do this in my free time on a volunteer basis.

Yeah I was just trying to work out if the way Gargoyle does it, is the norm or not. I have found another link which explained what you said, about it being more opening a port, than port forwarding. So I should be looking in the firewall section, and making a rule to open a port for the web server IP.

Thanks
