Hi,
I have 2 wifi's configured in my local network: 2.4 GHz (gko2) and 5 GHz (gko5).
I have configured a restriction for a laptop with specific MAC address. The restriction should block access to the internet for this laptop. The restriction works ok when laptop is connected to gko2 - there is no internet access.
But when connected to the gko5 the access is still there. What am I doing wrong?
My specs:
router: Netgear R6220 AC1200
Gargoyle version: 1.13.0.0pre11 (93937174) (polish Gargoyle = Volaris wrote about it in topic 12305 - sorry, I cannot post any images or links).
Restricting internet access on wifi 2.4 Ghz, but not 5 GHz

I would check if the MAC address is the same when the laptop is connected to both radios.
Also please update to a more recent version. That version has various security vulnerabilities.

Thanks a lot, thaht helped!
Btw, after upgrading router's firmware, there is "Wireless MAC Filter" functionality ("Connection ->Basic" page, "Wireless" section). What's the difference between this and "Firewall -> Restrictions"?

Wireless MAC Filter prevents devices from connecting to the network at all.
The restrictions apply rules based on MAC (or IP) once someone is already connected.

Re: Restricting internet access on wifi 2.4 Ghz, but not 5 GHz
Hi again,
I solved the problem but in a quite quirky way :/
In Windows (10 and 11), in wifi connection details, there is an option called "random hardware addresses". If enabled, such host connects to the router with different MAC address every time the lease is finished. So I ended with the soultion that I set DHCP lease time for a year (8760 hours), connected the laptop to the wifi, and restricted the MAC address, which was generated for the laptop.

If you have control of the device, you can turn off randomised MAC as well of course.
