Stable or Experimental for WRT1900AC v1

Sorry if this has been covered somewhere but I'm a bit confused about which version of Gargoyle to install on a Linksys WRT1900AC v1.
""Stable" (1.12) seems to be getting a bit old but "Experimental" (1.13) sounds like it could be problematic? From what I understand there may not be future versions due to a lack of driver development etc for these.

Which would be the best (wireless range & security) and least problematic version for this router?

1.13 (latest, not the release from several years ago) would be best.
There will be no 1.14 for that device. It will hopefully return in 1.15 as the upstream issue has been resolved.
