TL-WR1043ND + 1.3.13 = DNS bug?

Post by SpirituS »

Apologize for my (or Google))) english!
I have installed v1.3.13 от my TL-WR1043ND. All working fine, but I found that might not work configure DNS, specified manually. Connection tipe is "DHCP (Wired)". I need to specify the DNS server manually, because provider's DHCP gives an old DNS server. If I prescribe the same DNS server manually allows adjusting LAN connection directly on my PC, then they are invoked and everything works (the router mode is "Allow Clients To Use Alternate DNS Servers"). Why are Gargoyle ignores these DNS servers?

Another question: I have not found a setting restrictions on access to the router by MAC-address. Badly looking for this option or do not?

Thanks in advance!

First part - I think its by design.

When I set my WAN to Static IP - I have to manually add DNS servers
for the router to see the internet. For some reason it does not
default to using the Gateway as the DNS IP.

I have my WZR-HP-G300NH behind another router for testing.

Seconds question - its been asked many times, am not sure if its
being worked on, or is not possible at the moment - many have
asked about Quotas via MAC - probably not going to happen soon.

I ask a pardon for my computer translate.
I have installed v1.3.13 from my TL-WR1043ND also has found out one bug. My provider gives me the current Internet through DHCP. Есои to hammer statik IP that the Internet doesn't work. The problem in that if on wan port disappears the Internet that Gargoyle not ReConnect and hangs exterior IP all shows, and the Internet isn't present. Reboot helps only.
You couldn't add the watchman, let ping any site (google.com) each 15 minutes and if ping has disappeared that let is overloaded. Thanks

i wanna join to this described bug.
got my new fresh garogyle 1.3.13 did a sys upgrade (1043n),when i woke up this morning got complains that internet wasnt working over night so i logged in the web interface and found out that dialer seems to be up,dhcp+wifi working but i couldnt ping 8.8.8.8 for example and no browsing.
tried to reset from basic conf page but it wasnt responsive (by the way you should add a disconnect button to connection stats page will be highly appricated! :D ), so i did a power reset dialer went up again and pinging wan is alive.
as i said working in pppoe (wired ) mode with keep alive.

Check that OpenWRT forum post

Looks like you can setup a script to ping an address
every so often (you can change the time interval)
and if the device cannot ping, will reboot the router for you.

Would probably help a lot of people with PPPoE disconnects!

Router reboot would be much cleaner than connect/disconnect.
Keeps your router memory fresh and clean as well!
