Hello,
To the creator of this project- cheers mate, I've been working on getting a repeater bridge going on my La Fonera 2100 for about a week on dd-wrt, but Gargoyle has gotten me so much further in just a couple of hours.
Here is my setup:
I have a La Fonera 2100 hooked up to my modem, broadcasting an AP from my basement. It uses a computer running pfSense for the network firewall/DHCP server. Unfortunately the signal is weak in my upstairs workstation, and very inconsistent. The wireless signal also only reaches one bar in my outdoor cabin used as an office (in my back yard). I've been looking for a wireless repeater setup, using a second La Fonera 2100 I have. Using Gargoyle I have successfully connected to the host AP, chosen my re-broadcast SSID and inputted the original's WEP key in the correct field. Now, I was able to connect to the Internet on my upstairs computer when I had the LAN cable plugged in, but was unsuccessful on any computer not tethered to the Fon. Other devices pick up the SSID but cannot connect.
My question: Does anybody have an identical/similar setup on which this is possible? Are there any small final tricks needed (I ask this because on dd-wrt at one point you must power cycle twice to synchronize the routers, not sure if there is anything of the like here)? Is this possible to begin with? I am running the final 1.2.x release, 1.2.5. If I need to update or anything, please let me know.
Cheers guys,
