QoS (Download) -- Classification Rules : FAIL

Post by seanb »

Very simple. I have set my Default Service Class: 9000 kbit/s as fastest class. I have another class called wireless - I set that to the ip of my laptop and class as wireless. The class wireless has download max speed of 3000 kbit/s. But when I do a speed test - it does not see the class - it behaves with the max default speed of the router, being 9000 kbits. What am I doing wrong?

Take a look at the connections screen and identify the connections to your laptop. Perhaps you can see whats wrong with your rule.

I'll take a wild guess and say you have your source/dest IP addresses reversed or wrong.

The ip is correct - and I did set a class for that ip as the ip and destination port being 80. The Default Service Class is set for 9000 - and that's the speed I get... But I want to allow the class to control the wireless.. I'm not a new comer to networks - this is pretty simple to set-up - but it does not want to function as I think it should... :?

I have several rules based on IP and port numbers on my router. They work very well for me.

What do you see in the connection list?
