Hi,
I would like to update my TP-LINK router with the required firmware from this link:
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/download.php
However I am not sure which file I should use.
Please can someone advise me?
My router is a TP-Link TD W8961N.
Many thanks

Re: TP-Link TD W8961N
Not looking good
I can find no ref to your router at OpenWRT (Gargoyle is built on OpenWRT)
There is a router with a similar model TP-Link TD-W8960N
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/td-w8960n
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?pid=179455
But even that one does not appear to be supported properly yet

Can you help someone else get Gargoyle up and running?

Hi,
Thank you for looking at the options.
Can you suggest a standard router that would work with OpenWRT?

Hi nworbnhoj,
Thank you so much for taking the time to advise me and offer the suggestion of the router you are using.
I will invest in one of those and then install the required fields.
Many thanks

Re: TP-Link TD W8961N
Sorry for bumping a dead thread, however I want to notify that I have this router, and I intend to publish a WikiDevi page for it once I have all the basic hardware details squared away.
That said, this router utilizes a Ralink RT63365E SoC, 8MB of SDRAM, and 2MB of storage, so while hardware support is possible, the specs are too low for any Wrt/Wrt-based firmwares.

It is really a museum piece and OpenWrt and Gargoyle no longer support the router.moriel5 wrote:Sorry for bumping a dead thread, however I want to notify that I have this router, and I intend to publish a WikiDevi page for it once I have all the basic hardware details squared away.

If you want to use ADSL technology, configure your modem as "bridge" and use a more powerful and supported router for it.

Re: TP-Link TD W8961N
Thanks, I see someone had already published the specs, odd that I could not find it myself.RomanHK wrote:https://wikidevidotcom/wiki/TP-LINK_TD-W8961ND_Series
At least I'll be able to verify it myself, and add details if necessary.
Thanks, but no need. I'm using a Netgear DM200 on OpenWrt and a custom modem firmware that supports vectoring on VDSL2, as well as a Xiaomi Mi 3G for the main wireless network (when I'll have time, I intend to flash on it X-Wrt (not the old well known one, this one is basically OpenWrt Snapshot with LuCI preinstalled), and a Xiaomi Mi 3 as the extender (I need to reflash X-Wrt when I have the time, as I did not flash it properly, which prevents me from upgrading the system image). If you want to use ADSL technology, configure your modem as "bridge" and use a more powerful and supported router for it.
Re: TP-Link TD W8961N
Thanks, I had already updated the flash chip brand and model on the 3.x page (I have the 3.1 model).
