Re: installed Gargoyle and cant access the router
pbix i have tried that one too. I have opened a command window and run a ping -t 192.168.1.1 the response was <1ms and TTL 64 so i guess the linux kernel was running then I saved time zone new password and so on. Then when I tried to change anything else like enabling the wireless or the ppoe then just i get request timed out instantly without any restart command or so. Then the router become dead no DHCP no ping nothing.
For the memory usage i think DD-WRT runs the linux too. Here is my current memory usage with full configuration with a custom iptables script
Total Available
29.1 MB / 32.0 MB
Free
12.2 MB / 29.1 MB
the same TL-WR941ND ver 2.2 router that i have tried to install gargoyle earlier. It detects the memory 32MB also the consumption is less. I think maybe my router has a problem or there may be some issues with ver 2 firmware. Someone using gargoyle on TL-WR941ND ? I liked the features of gargoyle but sadly i can't install it on my box.
I m sorry i cant take the contents of your dmesg and logread output right now as the router is running fine now & i guess my version of TL-941ND need to be tested one more time.

Re: installed Gargoyle and cant access the router
While I cannot read the text of the post because of the lanuguage it does seem that it may be related to this issue. The setting of the ifname config variable seems to be the problem.
These variables are set by OpenWRT at boot time and not Gargoyle so you should pursue this issue at openwrt.org. When the underlying OpenWRT support this router then Gargoyle should work.

Re: installed Gargoyle and cant access the router
actually it has nothing to do with openwrt. the same user posted here too which i have found later. the post was made under subforum opewrt because gargoyle is somewhat related to openwrt and openwrt fully support WR941ND. The actual topic is
TL-WR941ND - problem with 1.3.9 Gargoyle
as gargoyle listed WR941ND as a tested router thats why i m asking to fix this otherwise many more will have the same problem or brick the device.
You can always use google translate

Are you saying you have OpenWRT running on your router?

Re: installed Gargoyle and cant access the router
nope i m currently running dd-wrt. I have seen many people running openwrt in WR941ND also they have added a usb. Well me and the specific user having similar problems thats why i think this issue is worth looking into. Perhaps installing it again on these devices.

Re: installed Gargoyle and cant access the router
According to this page:
http://www.tp-link.com/support/download ... TL-WR941ND
There are 4 different versions of the WR941ND
And on the downloads page, there are only firmware images
for the V2, V3, and V4 versions, not the V1
What version are you having trouble with?
Whoops - I see you have a version 2.2 WR941ND router from
your first post - the other forum member, does he have the
same version that you are having trouble with?
Would help to isolate issues if it is version specific.
These TP-Links seem pretty hokey with all the different versions
of hardware they put out for each model of router.
I suspect they go with the cheapest batch of parts they can find.

Re: installed Gargoyle and cant access the router
yeah i agree with that that tplink uses the cheapest product
well i m using ver 2.2 and the other user's input is here
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... 5173#p5173
which is a ver 3.3 both of us having the same problem. I have seen a new firmware version has been released 1.3.10 I cant see any changelogs for atheros. Is there a fix in this new build about is ridiculous problem of tplink ?

hellbound - follow that link - login to dd-wrt to see the firmwares
revert back to factory firmware on your tplink
reset to defaults
flash to gargoyle 1.3.10, then see if you can login
only thing I can think to try out
