I have quotas set up for my kids. Once they reach their monthly quota, their internet access is cut off.
I also have a plex server, on my local network. I would like the kids to continue to be able to use the plex server even if their quota has been reached.
I've tried whitelisting any site with "plex" in the name, but that isn't working. Once the kids reach their quota limit, their plex no longer works. What needs to be done to make it work?
problems using plex when quota is reached.

Try using the plex IP address?
Re: problems using plex when quota is reached.
Sounds like Plex phones home to allow connections.
I would unblock everything, connect to plex and look at the connection list, and the webmon list.
Then you’ll have a list of things to try whitelisting.
You’ll also want to make sure you’re on the latest 1.10.x or URL blocking/whitelisting doesn’t even work at all.

Re: problems using plex when quota is reached.
I've tried adding the plex ip addresses I got from doing an ip whois lookup for "plex(dot)tv" to my whitelist permitted IP addresses.
34.246.147.206
52.208.108.2
54.77.87.2
52.18.234.21
54.76.18.129
34.248.194.188
34.249.151.238
52.210.134.93
I've also tried adding in the range shown from the whois lookup:
52.208.0.0/13
34.240.0.0/13
54.72.0.0/13
54.80.0.0/12
52.16.0.0/14
34.248.0.0/13
Still unable to connect when their quota is reached.
My gargoyle version is 1.10.0.
My wireless router is TP-Link Archer C7 v2
Am I missing something?

Thanks ispyisail,
I'm not sure what you mean by trying 1.10.x.
My search of the available firmware images, shows "gargoyle_1.10.0-ar71xx-generic-archer-c7-v2-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin" as the latest available for my router.... I am running 1.10.0.
Am I looking in the wrong place for the latest images?
