Version 1.10.0 : New stable version with critical security fixes

Upgraded (did NOT keep settings, of course) from 1.5.6 to 1.10.0 on a TP-Link WDR3600. All looks fine and dandy.
Added the 3 port forwards I needed and no more.

I have 300/300 fiber Internet. My WAN/LAN throughput went from DL/UL 190/120 on v1.5.6 to 120/110 on 1.10.0 (measured with dslreports.com and speedtest.net)
I was a little surprised to see such a dip in the DL rate.

On my Archer C7 v2 I get around 560/550 with LEDE 17.01.4 (measured with iperf3) and it runs at 300/300 connected to the fiber modem.
Anyone explain the big difference between the two routers? WDR3600 is a 560MHz MIPS and Archer C7 v2 is 720MHz (only 1.3 times higher clock).
I don't believe the QoS and bwmon is causing this much routing degradation. Has the kernel networking improved that much from CC to current LEDE?

Before anyone asks: I'm not gonna try and install gargoyle on the Archer C7: the family would go bonkers

I've been a happy user of gargoyle since v1.5.6 and BTW, IMHO, the Gargoyle UI is a lot easier and more intuitive than the LEDE/openwrt one. Good work!

CPU bottleneck.

Network stack is not better in LEDE. There is a lot more monitoring functionality in Gargoyle which ties up cpu time slowing it down.

Tried to upgrade to TP-Link WR1043 V1.8:

- upgrade from 1.9.2. => bricked router
- upgrade from debriced router/official TPLINK firmware => bricked router.

- put back 1.9.2. from debricked router => all ok.

So, it's not working on my 1043 V1.

I personally wouldn't install on 4MB routers or use any backup setting derived from either a backup file or preserve settings when flashing this version of Gargoyle.

FWIW - applied 1.10.0 to an ancient TP-Link TL-WR841NDV7 (Rosewill RNX-N300RT variant) running 1.9.2 preserving all settings. Updated without a hitch; been stable for 24+ hours.

Obviously 4MB routers can be problematic, especially if extensively configured. That said, I have yet to experience an upgrade issue on these little workhorses starting with the 1.6 branch. Only cleared settings when explicitly instructed to do so. YMMV.

I upgraded my 1043ND and an 841ND to 1.10.0. They are both running just fine as wireless bridges.
