I get down there and some assclown has reset the main 1043ND router, probably as they again went over their quota (i only have 2 suspects who regularly go over their quota). I cable intot he router and yup its been reset. No matter i thought ill just recover form a backup, only the person on site hadnt made a recent backup...last one was 3 months ago. OS i restore that and then have to manually add back in new users/details since that.
Since i want to avoid that ever happening again i was thinking of moving the quotaing etc on the current main router into the onsite persons room on a new router where it cant be tampered with, which would mean it wouldnt be able to serve as the main AP+WDS router due to its location.
Current setup is
3rd floor - Gargoyle 4 192.168.1.4 (WDS -repeating same SSID and gateway'd to main AP 192.168.1.1)
2nd floor - Gargoyle 3 192.168.1.3 (WDS -repeating same SSID and gateway'd to main AP 192.168.1.1)
1st floor - Gargoyle 2 192.168.1.2 (WDS -repeating same SSID and gateway'd to main AP 192.168.1.1)
Ground Floor - Gargoyle 1 (AP + WDS 192.168.1.1 - qos and quotas)
So my question is can i do this:
3rd floor - Gargoyle 4 192.168.1.4 (WDS -repeating same SSID and gateway'd to main AP 192.168.1.1)
2nd floor - Gargoyle 3 192.168.1.3 (WDS -repeating same SSID and gateway'd to main AP 192.168.1.1)
1st floor - Gargoyle 2 192.168.1.2 (AP+WDS - same SSID as Gargoyle 1 but gateway'd to main AP 192.168.1.1)
Ground Floor - Gargoyle 1 (AP (for onsite users room only) 192.168.1.1 - qos and quotas)
And have my quotas etc work as normal?
Not normally sturggling with the ins and outs but having a bad run lately
