Archer C7 v2 Throughput

I have a question about the max speed obtainable under gargoyle.
I am using an Archer C7 v2 with a 250/250 internet connection.

Under one of the latest gargoyle-ispy versions the maximum obtainable was:

This is what I'm getting with a C7 optimized LEDE version:

Both LEDE and Gargoyle are derived from dd-wrt, but why such a difference?

The excellent bandwidth monitoring and other features of Gargoyle have some processing overhead
