Trouble Upgrading WRT1900AC v1 Factory to 1.9.2

Hi all...

I need assistance upgrading a WRT1900AC v1 device to 1.9.2.

I am currently running factory FW version 1.1.10.167514 and have DL'ed gargoyle_1.9.x-mvebu-armada-xp-linksys-mamba-squashfs-sysupgrade.tar from lantis project dot com FTP site-June 2017 release.

-I am directly connected from PC to Router via ethernet cable.
-I go into Connectivity tab and choose Manual->Choose File->select the tar file and push Start.
-I ok through the warnings and the tar file appears to load onto the router successfully. Then I hit Okay to restart the router.
-Once the router powers back on, all I get is a flashing blue power light and no connectivity.

Am I not waiting enough time for the FW to load from this point, or is there something else I need to do from there? Do I have the correct fw?

I then have to perform a 30/30/30 to get it back to the Linksys fw and try again. Still no go.

Any ideas?

To go from factory to Gargoyle you must use the "factory" image.
Sysupgrade is for upgrading Gargoyle to later versions.

30/30/30 is for old ddwrt and will not work on openwrt or gargoyle.
