So last time I was stuck in a boot-loop:
I used the serial port method to unbrick my router:
-Bought this USB to TTL cable from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QT ... UTF8&psc=1
-Bought these male to male connectors to avoid soldering:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005T ... UTF8&psc=1
-This guy has good pictures on where each wire goes:
http://vtechdesign.com/archerc7mod.html
-Great instructions on how to perform a serial unbrick in this thread:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... c&start=45
READ THROUGH THE WHOLE THREAD AND LINKS TO LEARN!
I ended up flashing the DD-WRT image linked earlier in this thread to unbrick the router.
Once everything was stable...I used the TFTP method to flash gargoyle. (This time I didn't muck with the file)
Everything is working now. My router is working with Gargoyle 1.9.2. I think I've found a bug related to disabling DHCP and it getting re-enabled after a reboot...but that is for another thread
