Hello all.
I have...
Device Name:Gargoyle
Gargoyle Version:1.9.1
Model:TP-Link TL-WR1043N/ND v2
Upnp is enabled and shows three ports opened by one of my PC's. Other devices I have, such as a CCTV DVR are not able to open ports with their upnp enabled, reporting errors.
I have tested with http://www.xldevelopment.net/upnpwiz.php
and similar testers and utilities and they are all showing problems with upnp.
Anyone else having problems with upnp?
Is there a problem with the upnp implementation?
cheers.

Re: UPNP problem?
Further to my request for info, this upnp app doesnt get a response either...

I have also tried with my PC firewall disabled, again no response.
Not a happy bunny atm...

Re: UPNP problem?
Working fine here - have you done a "firstboot" and reset everything from scratch?
Re: UPNP problem?
Yes, absolutely from cold starting everything, let alone flashing to 1.9.2. I think the DVR I was testing has a upnp problem and I have had to port forward. The only upnp listing by Gargoyle is my PC where a couple of apps are setup to use particular ports. The test utilities I have tried to setup PF by upnp don't work and throw up an error. The upnp testers don't work apart from one which searches my network and lists all upnp users, like Android TV, PC's, etc. I suppose it depends on what dialect of upnp is being used on each machine. If they match, they talk. if not, PITA and manual PF has to be used.
Re: UPNP problem?
Gargoyle uses miniupnpd.
You may have more luck searching for incompatibilities with that.
And you're right that while it is a standard, it is often implemented poorly between devices.
I've never had a problem with a handful of PlayStation consoles, 1 blue ray player and several windows PCs

Re: UPNP problem?
I have just put a Sunluxy DVR on the network. Hooray, upnp works. All ports that I expect to be open are open.
BUT, the DDNS only has four fixed servers, Dyndns.org, no-ip.com, 3322.org and oray.com. Dyn has a paywall, No-ip has a free account, but has to be enabled monthly and the other two are Chinese, again with paywalls from the look at them with Google Translator. Hopefully I can setup the TT Router with the https://freedns.afraid.org/ FREE DDNS which is wonderfully wonderful to do the job. Also, the DVR has ptp and arsp, so might get lucky with that for remote.
Thanks for comments...
